The international community promised to provide aid of more than 2 billion euros to help the civilian population of Sudan. Of the 2 billion, the member countries of the European Union will contribute 900 million euros, including 110 million by France.

The pledges of donations are substantial, but they remain far from the 3.8 billion euros of necessary aid estimated by the United Nations. More than half of Sudan's population is in need of urgent humanitarian assistance. The French president also “solemnly” called on the belligerents to respect international humanitarian law and the protection of civilians. “We urge them to immediately establish a ceasefire in order to allow humanitarian actors to reach all Sudanese,” he also declared while part of the aid was diverted by the belligerences, he also said. ‘Humanitarian access must not be used for military purposes,’ he also says. “CEASEFIRE”  “We can announce that more than two billion euros will be mobilized in favor of the people of Sudan,“ declared Emmanuel Macron.
