Sweden ends proceedings - Germany continues to investigate. On September 26, 2022, several explosions were registered near the Danish Baltic Sea island of Bornholm.

A short time later four leaks were discovered in three of the four Nord Stream 1 and 2 lines. All spills occurred in international waters, two each in the exclusive economic zones of Sweden and Denmark. It is still unclear who is responsible for this 16 months after the explosions on the gas pipelines. The knowledge collected by the Swedes could now benefit the German investigation.
