[HIGHLIGHTS] Syria: drone attack on US base kills five fighters

Five fighters from Kurdish-led forces were killed in a drone attack that targeted a US base in eastern Syria. “Five members of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF, dominated by the Kurds) present at the American base of Al-Omar in the Deir Ezzor region were killed,” said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

In a statement, the “ Islamic Resistance in Iraq ” claimed responsibility for this attack, according to the group. The attack was carried out by a drone armed with a machine gun.
