13 people, including seven Revolutionary Guards of the Islamic Republic, were killed. Two senior officers of the Quds Force, Mohammad Reza Zahedi and Mohammad Hadi Haji Rahimi, were among the victims.
Iran and Syria have blamed Israel, which has not confirmed responsibility for the raid. The head of the Iranian Embassy in Damascus said the attack was a 'provocation' and that Iran would'respond' to the attack with a'response' to Israel's 'provocative' actions.
