Narges Mohammadi, 2023 Nobel Peace Prize winner, is in her seventh year in prison. Husband Taghi Rahmani has spent 14 years in the jails of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

In White Torture, the book she published with Albin Michel, lists the multitude of sentences inflicted on her by Iranian justice at the hands of clerics. “They say in Iran that when you go to prison once, it doesn't matter, but if you going to prison twice, you become a client. We are good clients of the prison,” says Taghi.
