A group of Spanish filmmakers and visual artists participates this weekend in a New York cycle now that one hundred years of the format are celebrated. In 1923, now a century ago, the Eastman Kodak company introduced its first amateur camera, the Cine-Kodak.

No one then could foresee the infinite possibilities of a format that opened the door to lighter shootings and outside the industry. Without that invention there would have been neither the first experimental and avant-garde cinema, nor much of documentary cinema.
