Thanks to Google, AI helps fight locust swarms in Africa. A cloud of 1 square kilometer can contain up to 80 million adult locusts which consume in one day the same quantity of food as 35,000 people.

Global warming favors the large-scale reproduction of this insect capable of traveling up to 1000 kilometers per week. Once restricted to East Africa, it began to spread throughout the African continent and beyond, to Southwest Asia and the Near East. Their current habitation area is approximately 16 million square kilometers.
