Astronomer Roberto Ragazzoni is the new president of the National Institute of Astrophysics. Ragazzon, who succeeds Marco Tavani, will be in office for the next four years.

He has worked behind the scenes of the largest ground-based telescopes, such as the Galileo National Telescope. He also invented a sensor capable of correcting the light entering the telescope from atmospheric turbulence, in order to obtain better image quality. His objective is to make INAF a field of innovative projects, "where daring becomes the norm"
