First national day of Made in Italy opened, on the anniversary of the birth of Leonardo Da Vinci. Hundreds of events held in each region, to highlight the specificities and characteristics of the territories.

"Made in Italy is not stuck in the past but is the best way of conceiving the future by always putting the person at the centre", said the Minister of Business and Made In Italy, AdolfoUrso. The Vitruvian man, who inspired the stamp issued for the day, was also featured on the day's official commemorative coin, issued by the Ministry of the Economy, Trade and Industry. The stamp was issued on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Leonardo's birth, and features his image on the reverse of the Italian flag, with the word 'Made' written on the inside. The day was also marked with the release of a new stamp, featuring the image of Leonardo and his family, and with the words 'Made In Italy' printed on the front.
