Oscar Pistorius was convicted of the murder of his girlfriend on Valentine's Day. He is serving probation in his uncle's mansion.

The 37-year-old femicide was famous for being the first double amputee athlete to compete in the Olympic Games. According to his parole paperwork, Pistorius is working as a volunteer at NG Kerk Waterkloof - the Dutch church mentioned at the beginning of this article - doing maintenance and cleaning tasks. He will finish his sentence in a few years by serving house arrest, a benefit that will only be maintained if he does not break a series of harsh restrictions. “It's too toxic to work with him now. There is nothing for him here,” one of those consulted told the American media. The former Olympic athlete was released on parole on January 5 after serving practically half of his sentence for the murder for his then-girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp. He lives with security personnel who monitor him day and night, either with electronic defenses or with the help of several attack dogs.
