The Chilean economy grows 4.5% in February, its biggest increase in almost two years. The Monthly Indicator of Economic Activity (Imacec) registers its greatest advance since May 2022.
“It confirms that we are entering a stage of expansion of the economy,” says the Minister of Finance, Mario Marcel. The increase in February - which was at the top of market expectations, which was betting on a figure between 2.5 and 5% - was driven mainly by mining activity.
