[HIGHLIGHTS] The churches of Alicante and Murcia suffer a wave of assaults to steal money and objects of worship

In the last recorded incident the sacristan of a temple in Orihuela confronted and held a criminal who intended to steal a chalice. The head of the Oriolan church stresses that assaults on temples are common.

This year not a month goes by without a case happening in Alicante or Murcia. Despite this, neither the National Police nor the Civil Guard, nor even the Bishopric of OriHuela-Alicante, have activated a special alert device.
