The doors of Télam have been closed for four weeks and employees are prohibited from going to work. The Government set a deadline for accepting the voluntary retirement plan.

Less than 100 employees have signed the voluntary withdrawals offered by the Government. The maximum amount they can pay is $23.5 million, regardless of how long one has in the agency, an employee said. "The idea is to see how many people take voluntary retirement. Also give early retirements. And if not, we are going to have to move forward with some layoffs," an official source said.
