Jorge Jiménez Martín has resigned from his position as director of the Judicial School. The resignation was unanimously accepted by the permanent commission of the General Council of the Judiciary (CGPJ) The CGPJ is based in Barcelona and coordinates the training of new judges.

The relationship between the Council and the former director had been deteriorating in recent months. The Council has to appoint an acting director and the sources indicate the councilors may opt for María Millán, director of continuing training at Madrid's Judicial School, a position based in Madrid.
