Néstor Carlos Kirchner took over as president on May 25, 2003. Less than a year later, on March 19, 2004, he visited the most important exhibition in the field: Expoagro.

The former president received shouts of encouragement, cheers and even some spontaneous applause. One of the highlights was when he ran into Juan Ucelli, from the Pork Producers Associations. He said: "Mr. President, 100% Argentine pork. Remember that on Monday we started negotiating with Brazil for imports"
