The Schongauer Schmid GmbH, which previously ran UPM's company canteen for over 40 years, is moving to the empty Rohrmoser butcher shop in Peiting. The company has been running UPM's company canteen for over 40 years.

The in-house butcher shop also supplies the V markets with sausage products. This also ends the collaboration with UPM, on whose factory premises the company has previously been based. The move to the market town represents a turning point for the Schongau family business of Helmut Schamper and his wife Simone Schmid-Schmid. The new tenant is anything but an unknown in the region, says the building contractor Christoph Berger, who is all the happier that they have now found someone who not only has a name in the area but also makes good sausage. The search for a tenant was not easy, Berger looks back, but he is optimistic about the local newspaper's coverage of the story. The story is now also available in our regular SchongAU newsletter.
