The politician who revolutionized Colombia's presidential campaign has just been convicted of corruption. Rodolfo Hernández, the extravagant candidate who was very close to defeating Gustavo Petro, has terminal cancer.

Petro is held in high esteem, but even when he was already an adult, veteran politician, involved in Congress, he did not harbor the deep conviction that he could become president of Colombia.
