The City Council of Malaga has created a system to track down abandoned dogs. The system uses DNA analysis to identify the owner of the dog.

If the dog does not have a microchip, the owner is fined up to 3,000 euros. The number of abandoned dogs in Malaga is estimated to be more than 50,000. The city has also created a website to help people track down their dogs, if they have been abandoned. The website is called ‘Dogs Not Pooped On’.
