Scoop is based on the book Scoops – Behind the Scenes of the BBC's Most Shocking Interviews by former Newsnight editor Sam McAlister. The film tells how Newsnight landed this interview with Prince Andrew, played by Rufus Sewell.
The release date of the film has not yet been communicated but it could be broadcast on Netflix in the spring according to BBC. During the interview, Prince Andrew testified to his friendship for Jeffrey Epstein and denied having had sexual relations with Virginia Giuffre.
