The Fonte Gaia in Piazza del Campo in Siena is one of the symbols of the city of the Palio. It took a construction site of over 1,000 hours (October 2023-February 2024) and 20 weeks of non-stop work by the staff coordinated by the restorer Stefano Landi.
The traditional chemical and mechanical methods have been joined by other innovative ones, such as El.En's lasers, which have made it possible to remove the most stubborn concretions.
