The French government raises the Vigipirate level to “emergency attack” after the attack in Moscow. “Given the claim of responsibility for the attack by the Islamic State and the threats weighing on our country,” indicated Gabriel Attal on the outcome of a defense council at the Élysée.

The plan was downgraded to level 2 (“reinforced security – attack risk”) in January. It was raised after the Moscow attack claimed by the jihadist group Islamic State (IS)
