Gamers are losing access to games they paid their best money for. The good old days when players could go to a store, buy a physical copy of a game, and know that it would be available to them anytime they wanted to play are gone.

Nintendo also shut down the servers of the Wii U console this month, causing millions of players to lose access to the digital store. Microsoft's Game Pass or Sony's PS Plus also create a situation where players pay for a monthly service, but don't actually own any of the games, which may disappear from the servers forever.. Philip Tremblay, who is in charge of the Ubisoft monthly subscription service, stated this month in an interview with Gamesindusty.biz magazine that in the future gamers will "get used to the situation where they do not own the games". Somehow we're not so sure. We're also one of the biggest companies in the industry known for its struggles against the pirated market. At least in such a situation the players do not pay full price for a game.
