The Government will raise the minimum wage, but much less than what the unions requested. By law, the Ministry of Labor is obliged to set a unilateral increase by ruling in the face of the failure of the Salary Council.

The increase will be announced on Tuesday and they anticipate that a short-term increase, below 50%, will be evaluated. The Government's commitment is to establish an increase for a limited period (bimonthly or quarterly) and an update scheme of around 45% or 50% is being analyzed.
