The IDF confirms for the first time: Israel set up an array of pumps to flood the Hamas tunnels. A number of units in the IDF and the Ministry of Defense jointly developed a number of tools for injecting water at a high rate into Hamas' tunnels in the Gaza Strip.
The activation of the capacity, which included the installation of pumps, pipes and means to locate the shafts, was preceded by extensive staff work. The IDF clarifies that water is injected only in directions and locations that are found to be suitable for this.
