A gray wolf has broken the record for the longest journey ever made by a wolf. The animal traveled 1,240 km between Germany, France and Catalonia.
It was born in 2020 in Nordhom (Germany), joined France and the Haute-Saône department in 2022 before continuing its adventure in Catalonia. This is the first time that a wolf of this species has been detected in Spain.. Wolf populations virtually disappeared from Catalonia at the beginning of the 20th century. The first individuals were detected in 2003, but packs have still not settled in the territory.
