Nearly 2,000 players in the sector from around fifty countries meet for two days during the global “Buildings and Climates” forum. The debates should conclude with a “Chaillot declaration” on Friday, negotiated for several months in the wake of major UN climate conferences.

The building sector is today responsible for 21% of global greenhouse gas emissions, 37% of energy-related CO2 emissions and captures half of global consumption of raw materials. The governments represented at this first Forum include those of the United States and China, the two countries that emit the most greenhouse gases.
