The Jerusalem District Court filed an injunction against the establishment of a café in the city's Rose Garden. In a survey distributed to respondents, the municipality demanded that the café not open on Shabbat.

The Awakening movement argued that it is not within the municipality's authority to pre-impose closure on Saturday. The issue has succeeded in dividing Jerusalem's residents, on the one hand those who claim that this is the desire of the neighborhood. On the other hand, members of the "Awakening" faction claim that the decision to build the site and not operate it on Saturday is a precedent-setting act.
