The extension building for the Kinderland daycare center on the outskirts of Holzkirchen celebrated its topping-out ceremony on Tuesday. From the beginning of 2025 there will be space for seven additional groups.

1,100 cubic meters of wood were used, 13 kilometers of cable were pulled, and 6,500 meters of empty pipes were laid. Around 500 LEDs illuminate the seven additional group rooms and the assigned multi-purpose rooms. The most urgent need is currently in the crèche area, where, according to the mayor, there is currently a lack of around 30 places. The design of the extension is based on the “old building”, which opened in 2016. The large amount of wood and a clever room layout deprive the large structure of any impact. The costs will amount to 11 to 12 million euros, of which three million will be covered by state funding.. Work on the protective wall and sidewalk is scheduled to begin in the next few weeks. Together with the day care center's outdoor facilities, the community is planning to build a sidewalk along Rosenheimer Strasse to the east.
