The Quimperlé hypermarket has installed four beehives on its green roof. The initiative goes to the owner of the Leclerc store, Muriel Sancéo.

In total, 320,000 bees leave from this promontory to find the best chestnut tree, linden tree or fragrant flower bed. To make 1 kg of honey, you need around 150,000 flowers. For 2024, two harvests are planned: one in spring and the other in August depending on the weather. Once the jars have satisfied the staff's appetite, the rest will be sold in the store, with a big tasting event around this honey. The store does not rule out the possibility of using another part of its green Roof for another production. Why not a vegetable garden or fruit trees?
