The most luminous object in the universe is a quasar with a black hole inside that eats a'sun' a day. Study discovers that J0529-4351 is a gigantic disk of gas and dust seven light years in diameter.

The light from this quasar took more than 12 billion years to reach Earth, since the infancy of the universe. This type of discovery would help explain how such massive black holes formed so early in the history of the cosmos, essential to understand how it evolved.
