IWC Schaffhausen has unveiled a calendar that is simply… eternal. Usually, a traditional perpetual calendar is only programmed for a four-year cycle.

On this watch, a new so-called “400-year” gear ensures that the calendar of this watch will also manage the common years (2100, 2200, 2300, etc.) and will automatically skip three leap years over four centuries. Added to this is a more than extremely precise display of the phases of the moon on this timeless timepiece. It has also equipped this technical marvel with a moon phase display that will only deviate from the lunar orbit by one day after 45 million years. It's not yet been officially decided whether the year 4000 will be a leap year or not. So this eternal calendar will correctly calculate the leap year at least until the year 3999, because it hasn't been decided yet if it will be leap year in that year. It won't happen before 2100... An event that you probably won't see in your lifetime, since it won't happened before 2100.
