The National Academy of Law and Social Sciences of Buenos Aires is critical of Ariel Lijo's nomination to fill a Supreme Court of Justice vacancy. The institution requested "suitability for the exercise of the function and a clear public morality" for whoever occupies a vacancy in the highest court.

It requested that the candidates be "relevant and impartial jurists." The Academy recalled "a statement with date December 1, 2023, criticizing the initiative to promote impeachment" of the current Supreme Court members. The Academy celebrated “the reversal of statism” as “a valuable fact” that “should be adopted as state policy.” But it warned that all legislative changes that are promoted must respect the constitutional norms and principles that proclaim the postulates of the Rule of Law in force in every civilized democracy, starting with the principle of legality.
