The Nicolás Maduro regime detained two leaders linked to the opposition María Corina Machado and ordered the arrest of seven others. Henry Alviárez, national coordinator of Vente Venezuela, and the former deputy Dignora Hernández, who work with the recently banned presidential candidate.

They are accused of planning "violent", "terrorist" and "destabilizing" actions with the aim of "forcing" the registration of Machado's candidacy in the next presidential elections on July 28.
