Deputy leader of Hamas Salah al-Aaruri was killed in Beirut January 2, 2024. Al-Aruri has been targeted by the Shin Bet since 2010 when he was released from Israeli prison.
He was appointed deputy head in Hamas and in Hamas headquarters abroad. His first deadly attack was the kidnapping and murder of the three boys in the summer of 2014: Yaakov Naftali, Frankel Yaakov and Yaakov Yaakov. His mission was to establish terrorist infrastructures around the world against Israeli targets.
