Paintings by Claude Antoine Beau, master of Gustave Courbet, were forgotten for 50 years. Hidden under the tiles of the bell tower of the church of La Barèche (Doubs), at the mercy of pigeon droppings and bad weather, they were forgotten.

It was only in 2015 that 14 paintings were rediscovered. Two have already been restored and will be exhibited at the Courbet museum in Ornans from December 2024. Twelve other canvases will need to be restored. A concert will be given this Saturday April 6 at 8 p.m.
