Cacho Garay is detained in San Felipe prison, in the province of Mendoza. According to reports, Garay lost more than 20 kilos and has problems walking.
He has prostate cancer, cardiological, neurological, traumatological and visual problems. His teammates give him a bed to sleep in and he gives motivational talks. Garay was under house arrest, but in July 2023, Judge Federico Martínez revoked the benefit because Garay's ex-partner received a phone call and during it only ambient sound was heard.
