The Floralis Genérica was damaged by a storm in December. It is an icon of the City and is an obligatory stop on tourist tours.

The City is working on a plan to repair the flower, which has not yet been completed. The flower was donated to the City by the famous Argentine architect Eduardo Catalano, who worked in the United States for many years before returning to Argentina. The maintenance of the flower is in the hands of the Ministry of Public Space and Urban Hygiene, which is based in Buenos Aires.
