The reality on the job market: Without foreigners, the kitchen stays cold. More than one in eight employees in the district now does not have a German passport.

If they had to leave the country - as the AfD's plans envisage - some companies would have to severely limit their offerings. Most of them work in manufacturing, healthcare or restaurants. In the district, almost 7,000 foreigners are currently working in jobs subject to social insurance contributions - that's two and a half times as many as in 2010.
