The remains of a stellar explosion from 800 years ago have been filmed - Space and Astronomy. They look like sparks from a firework, the remains of the stellar explosion that in 1181 AD lit up the sky for 185 consecutive nights.

The telescopes of NASA and the European Space Agency have created a new and colorful 'portrait' of this stellar wreckage, which with their observations have made it possible to reconstruct the process that led to that spectacular supernova. It is an almost circular nebula, with a central star, in the constellation Cassiopeia.
