José Manuel Durán González, 66, was arrested when he tried to flee Vigo. The documents found in his backpack, the relationship with the victim and the psychopathic personality of Durán attribute to him the third murder of a woman coinciding with his release from prison.

In 1988, he attacked his elderly 83-year-old grandmother, whom he raped and then stabbed to death. On March 1, when he had been free for a year after serving his last sentence of 17 and a half years in prison for killing a friend of the town in 2004 to rob her.
