The second most lightning strikes in Germany struck a city in Rhineland-Palatinate. With 172 lightning strikes, the municipality known as “Shoe City’ ranks second in a ranking by the Siemens Lightning Information Service (BLIDS) behind Memmingen (Bavaria) in 2023.
