[HIGHLIGHTS] The Senate opens the doors of Mexico so that 11 US soldiers can enter the country armed and train the national Army

The Senate approved the opinion of the National Defense Commission so that a group of 11 US soldiers can enter the country armed to train the Mexican Army. The training activity will take place from April 8 to May 17 within the “Joint Combined Exercise Training (JCET)” program.

Senators have complained in the session about the lack of transparency in the process. The ruling was approved with 79 votes in favor and 10 against, fueling the heated debate on militarization and transparency in Mexico's Armed Forces.
