The Senate will vote on the doomed immigration reform and another economic aid plan for Israel, Ukraine and Taiwan. Democrats are trying to save the support package for their allies against Hamas, Russia and China after the Republican blockade of a bipartisan proposal to reinforce the border.

If the procedural motion gets at least 60 votes, the plan (which also includes assistance to Taiwan) could be voted on later this week. The House on Tuesday rejected another bill to provide aid to Israel, amid congressional infighting over immigration reform.
