The shooting took place in the upper school room. 16 students and a teacher are considered witnesses.
The 17-year-old alleged perpetrator was a senior at school himself. The students were initially among themselves. A teacher then became aware of the crime by shouting loudly and came to the scene, said prosecutor Patrick Penders on Friday. The shooting occurred during a break in a lounge for high school students. The room is on the 4th floor of the building in Wuppertal, Germany.
