The Supreme Court on Tuesday extended the temporary block to the entry into force of the controversial Texas SB4 law. The law allows state police to arrest immigrants who cross the border illegally and allows them to face criminal sanctions.

The Supreme Court temporarily blocked the law from coming into force last week, at the request of the Joe Biden Government. The blockade expired this Wednesday. Judge Samuel Alito was the one who issued the new extension, which will last until Monday, March 18. The new extension gives the Supreme Court more time to make a decision on the law's future.
