The Sympathizer is a new HBO series by Korean filmmaker Park Chan-wook. Follows the journey of a Franco-Vietnamese communist spy exiled in Los Angeles after the fall of Saigon in 1975.
Robert Downey Jr plays a CIA agent, a university president in love with Japan. The series shows how tragedy or comedy can emerge from this kind of situation, says Chan- wook.
