The total solar eclipse in the April sky, but it will not be seen from Italy. The 'Black Sun' can in fact only be admired from Mexico, the United States and Canada.
Competing for the eclipse scene is the passage of comet 12P/Pons-Brooks, which is about to reach maximum brightness. On April 21 it will reach its closest point to the Sun (perihelion) and its closest approach to the Earth is expected on June 2, 2024.
