The United States announced on Saturday that it had destroyed eight drones off the coast of Yemen the day before. The strikes on Friday targeted a drone over the Gulf of Aden, seven in the Red Sea and four others on the ground.
“These actions will protect freedom of navigation and make international waters safer for U.S. Navy ships and merchant ships,” said Centcom in a press release. Centcom, however, did not indicate the origin of the drones destroyed off Yemen.
