The War Cabinet expanded the mandate of the Israeli negotiating team for talks on the hostage deal. An Israeli senior official noted that the cabinet's directive is to formulate a formula that, in the opinion of the negotiating team, will most likely lead to a deal.
"Their mandate is to come back and say what will happen," said the Israeli official. Head of the Mossad Dedi Barnea, head of the Shin Bet Ronan Bar, Major General Nitzan Alon will leave for Cairo this evening.
