[HIGHLIGHTS] These chickadees flap their wings to say “after you” to their partner, something never seen before among birds

A study published this Monday March 25 by the University of Tokyo reveals that Chinese titmice (Parus minor) have developed the ability to communicate through gestures. Toshitaka Suzuki and his collaborator, Norimasa Sugita, both authors of the study, observed the behavior of eight pairs in nest boxes for eleven days.
